Healthy Snacking with Perfectly Simple

As you may know, I am a daycare provider. My job requires a lot of energy and stamina to keep up with the pace of a houseful of children and a 10-hour workday. I try to take good care of myself because when I am a better me, I am a better caregiver. It starts with my diet. Now, I'm a food blogger, so I do my share of splurging, but I also try to balance it out with healthier eating options, like eating plenty of fruits and veggies and choosing nutritious, wholesome foods. And when I feel the need to snack, I try to choose a healthy snack like ZonePerfect Perfectly Simple nutrition bar. During the work day when I am feeling little drained, I grab myself a bar to help reenergize and keep me going. Perfectly Simple is made with simple, wholesome ingredients that refuels and leaves me feeling good so that I can go on taking care of others. #FeelGooder

Healthy Snacking with Perfectly Simple

Have you ever seen these protein bars? I get mine from Target. (They are located near the Pharmacy at my local store.)  ZonePerfect Perfectly Simple comes in 4 different delicious flavors:
  • Almond Toffee Crunch
  • Bing Cherry & Almond
  • Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk
  • Roasted Cashew & Dark Chocolate

There is bound to be a flavor that suits you. Did I tell you they are all 200 calories or less? For those who are gluten free, these bars will also fit into your diet regiment. And because each has 10-11 grams of protein, it will leave you feeling fuller longer.

Would you like to try some? Get a  $1.00 coupon off your purchase hereTake advantage of it and try these bars soon!

Eating healthy protein bars is one of the number of ways I keep myself feeling good. But I rely on other methods as well. Listening to  my favorite music always relaxes me. And going for a walk is good for the body and soul. I try to sneak as much of those feel good moments into my day as much as I can (even if it means walking around in circles in my backyard while the children are playing).

How about you? In what ways do you steal moments to decompress to make yourself #FeelGooder? Do you meditate, take a bath, work out, listen to music? I'd love to know what you do to be a healthy you!

Thank you Anu. They are really good!

Those flavors sound really good! I will have to give them a try!

I think you will like them! I'm picking up the roasted cashews and dark chocolate ones today. My daughter and her boyfriend finished off my last box of protein bars.

What a great option for keeping up with those kiddos. Hats off to you! Daycare providers amaze me :)

The bars are really handy snacks during a busy day. Running a daycare is controlled chaos, Julie. Making everything run smoothly is largely due to sticking to a schedule.

You DO need some extra energy! I can barely keep up with one puppy. These bars might be just what I need :)

In Good Flavor /Food for the Finicky said...

Haha! Puppies are a lot of work! That's one of the reasons why I don't have pets of any kind, because whichever household member swear they will take care of it, it would undoubtedly fall on me. :)

Oh wow! A day care provider! That's so much! I'm with Liz and puppies! I need to pick up some of these bars!

In Good Flavor /Food for the Finicky said...

Liz would be pleased to know that! :) Yes, I have wiped many runny noses and changed more diapers than anyone should in a lifetime, but I have made many lasting connections. And it's always nice to run into the children who I have cared for as babies/toddlers who have turned into fine preteens and teenagers.

You know my daughter started college and the school sent a sales brochure for care packages with the worst, most unhealthy items. I so need to pull together things like this and do one of my own!

I won't lie, these nutrition bars are on the higher price range, but they are delicious and nutritious...elements that are lacking in those college care package options. Remember to grab a coupon if you decide to get them, Inger. :)

After all this time, how did I not know you were a daycare provider?! Dang, that's impressive.. i dont think I would have the patience, so mad props to you girlfriend! I have seen ZonePerfect Perfectly Simple bars before, but I haven't tried them out. The toffee flavor sounds scrumptious! If you approve of them, they must be good so I'm totally going to give them a try! I like to listen to music to decompress.. since you asked. Or a long hot shower always helps soothe my soul! Cheers girlfriend- to a fabulous week!

Thanks, Chey! After 16 years in the business, the daycare runs like a well-oiled machine (that is loud and drama filled). :) The toffee flavor is delicious! I have had it and it’s chewy, nutty, and yummy! I also like that it doesn’t taste overly sweet. If you do get them, the coupon comes in handy as they are on the pricy side, at least for me. I’m used to buying ones at 2 for $5. I agree with you on the music 100%. It does so much to put my mind at ease. And there is nothing like a nice hot shower. There are times when I wish I could stay in it all day. You have a wonderful week too, sweet lady!

I have so much respect for what you do. I am totally exhausted with just two kids of my own. These bars sound like the perfect snack to keep your energy up :)

In Good Flavor /Food for the Finicky said...

Thank you so much for your sweet words, Kelly. A houseful of six little children is a lot of work. But I remember being a mom of two little ones, and believe me, I found it just as exhausting!

Wow, these bars look really good! Love the fact that they are made with real ingredients and you can actually see them in the bar (I'm all about the roasted cashew & dark chocolate one). I need something like this to carry around in my purse for when the hunger strikes. Thanks for including a coupon too :) Mad props on your daycare business!! I used to teach toddlers at a Montessori school and I never slept better in my life M-F cause they wore me out!! :)

These bars are perfect pick me ups. The two nut bars are my favorite, but you can't go wrong with any of them! So you know what it is like to work with very young children! They are adorable, but keep you busy. I'm glad you benefitted with a good night's sleep! :) I’m a bit jealous. I wish I could say the same, but I am a bit of an insomniac. :( Have a great holiday weekend!

These look SOOOOO good, wow!!! I can imagine they're perfect for you given all of the energy that you need- I think I'm going to pick some up for my husband too, he works so hard all day, physically- he could definitely use an energy bar like this!
